Meet the LDT Team: Frankie

Rob Fearn
Partner Engagement Lead

At Let’s Do This, we’re not just about inspiring amazing moments - we're all about making our own as well.

While it’s far from compulsory to take part in events to work with us, plenty of the team love doing so, none more so than superstar Senior Customer Service Executive Frankie Cox, who recently returned from competing in the Ironman 70.3 World Champs. We asked her a few quick-fire questions on her experience, life at Let’s Do This and more.

What do you do at Let's Do This?

I'm part of the Customer Success team. Our mission is to provide the most informative, speedy, friendly and proactive customer service on the planet. As the first point of contact with our participants, we're all about ensuring anyone and everyone who uses LDT has a fantastic experience, from before they book right through to when they've crossed the finish line and beyond

How is it working in your team?

It's great! We're a small team so we're super tight-knit and all get along well. It can be high pressure at times, especially during the peak of the event season when we have a lot of participants to serve, but it's really rewarding knowing how much of an impact we have on making the event experience truly memorable...especially when they come to us with tricky queries! We also get to work with a whole load of people across the business - from Sales, Partner Success, Product, Marketing and more - which is something I really enjoy.

How did you get into triathlon?

I’ve always been active! I competed in athletics when I was younger and have played hockey up to national level. My partner also played hockey but when he broke his foot and was told he could only swim or cycle, he wanted a new challenge that involved both. He stumbled across triathlon, and being as competitive as I am, there was no way I could let him do one without me. So, in 2018, we both took the plunge and did our first sprint distance triathlon. It wasn't long before we were hooked and moving onto bigger challenges. We both did our first full distance Ironman in 2019, and we've not looked back since!

Getting ready to race at the World Champs

How did you qualify for the World Championships?

To qualify for the worlds you first need to compete in a regular Ironman race. Here, there are auto slots for at least the top 2 or 3 in your age group (depending on the size of the field), and then there are also Women for Tri slots. If you make the cut, you head over to the slot allocation ceremony after the race to claim your entry, and then you're off! I got my qualification at the Mallorca 70.3 in May this year, which got me my ticket to the World Champs in Finland in August.

How was the experience?

It was pretty surreal as I was there racing alongside the professionals I look up to and see every day on social media! There aren’t many events where age groupers/amateurs get to compete on the same course at the same time (albeit starting 30 minutes after) as the pros. The event itself was huge, with 2000 women competing on the Saturday and 3000 men on the Sunday. The support both on and off the course was incredible.

Despite it being a World Champs, everyone was so supportive of each other. The race itself was exhilarating and, after being out July 2022 - March 2023 with a serious back injury, I was just so happy to be there and racing! Every inch of the run course was lined with supporters. I brought my trusty cowbell along so I could support the men on the Sunday (even in the pouring rain!).

Crossing the finish line in Lahti

What does this the Let's Do This mission - to be the online company that gets people offline together - mean to you?

As you can probably tell from what I do, I love being offline and getting out and about, so our mission matches my personal goals as well. To work for a company actively encouraging people to get out there, get involved, and get fit - whether it be for fun, training, or competing is pretty epic. I'm so excited to see how much we can achieve.

Want to join the team?

We’re proud of what we’re doing at Let's Do This, and are always on the hunt for people who can help us grow an industry we care deeply about. If you think we’re a match for your goals then we’d love to hear from you. Note: We don’t all wear lycra and running shoes, we’re actually pretty normal.
